HopKit

HopKit Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 9, 2026

HopKit is a packing-list app for iPhone made by Spooky Monster Games ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to the information you put into HopKit.

The short version

What HopKit stores

Everything you create in HopKit is stored on your iPhone, inside the app:

HopKit does not send this information to us or to any server we run. We do not run any servers for HopKit. HopKit has no account of its own to create and nothing to sign in to.

iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud on your iPhone and iCloud is turned on for HopKit, the app also keeps a copy of what you create in your own iCloud account. This keeps your devices in step and means your trips and closet are still there if you replace your iPhone.

If you have never signed in to iCloud on the device, HopKit works the same way and what you create stays only on that device.

If you sign out of iCloud, or turn iCloud off for HopKit, after it has been syncing, the copy on that device is removed and comes back from iCloud when you sign in again. Anything that had not yet reached iCloud (for example because your iCloud storage was full) is lost, so check that sync is working in HopKit's Settings before you sign out.

Separately, the information in the app may be included in the backups you make of your iPhone (for example iCloud Backup or a backup to a computer), according to your own device settings. Those backups are handled by Apple and by you, not by us.

City suggestions (Apple Maps)

When you type in a trip's City field, HopKit asks Apple Maps for matching place names so it can offer suggestions. To do that, the text you type in that field is sent to Apple. HopKit does not ask for or use your location. Apple handles these requests under its own privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

If you are offline, no suggestions appear and whatever you typed is kept.

Trip weather (Apple Weather)

If a trip has a city, HopKit shows the weather for that city and the trip's dates. To do that it sends the city you typed to Apple to find it on the map, and then sends that place's map position and the trip's dates to Apple Weather. We do not receive this information. Apple handles it under its own privacy policy. A trip with no city sends nothing, and HopKit never asks for or uses your own location.

Flight-status link

If you add a flight number to a trip, HopKit shows it as a link. Tapping the link leaves HopKit and opens a Google search for that flight number and the words "flight status" in your web browser. Nothing is sent until you tap the link. Once it opens, the search is handled by Google and your browser under their own privacy policies, not by HopKit.

Photos

You can add photos to trips, clothes and outfits. HopKit uses the iPhone's built-in photo picker, so it only receives the photos you choose; it cannot browse the rest of your photo library. HopKit does not use the camera. The photos you add are stored in the app on your device and, if iCloud sync is on, in your own iCloud account. HopKit does not upload them anywhere else.

No tracking, ads or analytics

HopKit contains no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party software development kits. It does not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your information, because we never receive it.

Deleting your information

You can delete individual trips, items, clothes and outfits in the app. "Clear all" in Settings deletes every trip, item, bag, piece of clothing, outfit and list you made. With iCloud sync on, what you delete in the app is also removed from the iCloud copy and from your other devices.

Deleting the app from your iPhone removes the app and its data from that device. It does not remove the iCloud copy. To remove everything, use "Clear all" in HopKit's Settings before deleting the app. You can also remove the iCloud copy from the iPhone's Settings app (your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage); that erases HopKit's data on every device that still has the app.

Children

HopKit is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If HopKit changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this policy and change the effective date above before that version is released.
